Sur la page de droite, Jean Colombe a peint David priant sur le seuil d’une chapelle. Plusieurs hommes s’associent à la louange du Seigneur qui « ramena les captifs à Sion » (verset 1). Le texte, écrit par le copiste qui travaillait avec les Limbourg, est incomplet.
Forty days after the birth of Jesus, the Holy Family goes to the Temple of Jerusalem to offer a sacrifice. A servant climbs the steps first, carrying a basket with two doves and a lit candle. Behind her, the Virgin carries her son in her arms. At the top of the steps, the high priest waits to welcome them.
On the right-hand page, Jean Colomb has painted David praying on the threshold of a chapel. Several men join in the praise of the Lord who “brought back the captivity of Zion” (verse 1). The text, written by the scribe who worked with the Limbourgs, is incomplete.
