Le psalmiste, tel David à genoux dans la miniature, supplie le Seigneur d’accorder son pardon : « Des profondeurs, je crie vers toi, Seigneur » (verset 1). Le reste de la composition évoque le péché d’adultère de David avec Bethsabée dont l’époux Urie, l’homme au bonnet rouge, est écarté.
The psalmist, like David kneeling in the miniature, beseeches the Lord to grant him forgiveness : “Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord” (verse 1). The rest of the composition evokes David’s sin of adultery with Bathsheba, whose husband Uriah, the man with the red bonnet, is excluded.
