Les évangiles apocryphes rapportent que Marie est, durant son enfance, conduite au Temple de Jérusalem. Elle en monte ici les marches, entourée par ses parents, Anne et Joachim. Jean Colombe s’inspire des « portraits d’architecture » des Limbourg. Il donne au Temple de Jérusalem la forme de la partie centrale de la façade occidentale de la cathédrale de Bourges. Comme au folio 79, le texte initial a été occulté et réinscrit en partie sur la première marche.
According to the apocryphal gospels, Mary was brought to the Temple of Jerusalem when she was a child. Here, she climbs the step, accompanied by her parents, Anne and Joachim. Jean Colombe has taken inspiration from the Limbourg’s “portraits of architecture”. He has given the Temple of Jerusalem the form of the central section of the west façade of the cathedral of Bourges. Like in folio 79, the initial text has been obscured and partially reinscribed on the bottom step.
