Le traitement ornemental du ciel, sans recours à la perspective atmosphérique, est la touche d’un des trois frères Limbourg, dit « C ».
The painting relates to the gospel of the day (John 6, 1-14). A crowd has followed Christ beyond the city of Tiberias. Jesus has multiplied the five loaves and two fishes to feed everyone. The Trinity manifests itself at the instant of the miracle. The ornamental treatment of the sky, without using atmospheric perspective, is the touch of one of the three Limbourg brothers, called “C”.
