Les trois enluminures du feuillet de droite forment une même scène : la Vision de l’Ara Coeli. Songeant à se faire adorer comme un dieu, l’empereur Auguste consulte la sibylle de Tibur, considérée comme une prophétesse. Elle lui annonce la naissance d’un enfant, le Christ, beaucoup plus puissant que lui. Auguste, tombé à genoux, adore alors la Vierge et l’Enfant qui lui apparaissent se détachant sur le soleil dans un cercle doré.
The three illuminations form a single scene : the Vision of the Ara Coeli. Thinking he should be worshipped as a god, the Emperor Augustus consults the Sibyl of Tibur, considered a prophetess. She announces to him the birth of a child, the Christ, who would be much more powerful than him. Augustus falls on his knees and adores the Virgin and child who appear to him, standing against the sun in a golden circle.
