The words “Gloria pri” at the bottom of the folio are an abbreviation of “Gloria Patri”, the first words of the next page. This process of using a “catchword” allowed the binder to be sure that the various pages of the manuscript were bound in the correct order and the reader to anticipate the continuation of the text.
